"Very glad I tried this place out. I've always wondered about it and never gone there and did today for late lunch. It has a nice atmosphere somewhat country-ish somewhat barbecue ish. They have a Reuben on the menu. I look for the Reuben quality as an indicator of the rest of their food. However this time I also saw they had a tenderloin. The waitress said it was big but not gargantuan. "It could fit in two buns". That's a good way for me to ask in the future how big a place's tenderloin is. "How many buns does it take to cover it?"
So anyway I got that with all the toppings. Got the onion rings for an extra $1. Had some hot sauce on the tenderloin. Mustard and hot sauce mix for the rings.
Mmmm good stuff.
It was quiet when I was there from 1-2pm it started to pick up towards 2pm. They had one waitress for the whole place till 6pm. Oy vey. But she was able to keep up with the approximately 6 couples at tables and a few more at the bar.
Music was good. Classic stuff. Made me think of a juke box though it was on the system not a real juke box.
I didn't have beers though I suppose it was, as the saying goes, 5pm somewhere. I will have to go back there with my friend from the other recent review. At first I thought Nick's only had "macrobrew" but when I looked they also had Big Grove, Guiness, Shiner and the assorted "macrobrews". I'll have the Reuben just as a formality then because I like this place. Good prices too. Now that I think if it, I'll have to go back at least a third time. They have a sandwich, "Cow Dip", their version of an Au Jus. Funny name. Worth the third trip for that."
